	Environmental Site Assessments


	The Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) process is designed to protect real estate purchasers and/or lenders against potential environmental liabilities associated with properties. These liabilities could include contamination of soil, ground water and surface water. Skelton, Brumwell conducts Phase 1 ESA’s if there is a possibility that contaminants exist on the property. If the Phase 1 study identifies the potential for contaminants we retain qualified sub-consultants on the client’s behalf to complete the Phase 2 study, to identify the location and type of contaminants. Where site remediation is necessary we work with the client to identify options and cost implications. The Environmental Site Assessment is carried out according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)

We have completed Environmental Assessments on a variety of properties including industrial facilities, residential properties, vacant lands, former gas stations, resort properties and agricultural processing operations. If site clean-up is required, Skelton, Brumwell can coordinate the necessary services to ensure the clean-up is carried out to the required standards.
